Maya Math Game

Practice
Round 2

Base 10

You are doing great! Are you feeling good about using the Maya symbols to represent numbers 0 - 19? I hope so, because we are now going to start working with numbers larger than 19 using the base-10 system that you were taught in school.

In the base-10 system, numbers are written in units of 1s, 10s, 100s, 1000s, and so on. This system developed from the fact that humans have 10 fingers.

Directions

Drag the correct symbol(s) in the left gold boxes into the white boxes to match the number in red. A text box appears when you have matched the correct symbols to the number in red. Drag new symbol to replace a value, or click symbol to remove.

Keyboard Instructions: Press the space bar to copy a number symbol and drop it into the white box. To remove a number symbol from the white box, press the Enter key.

Note for screenreader users: Use your screenreader's "browse mode" to play the game.
